Hobbs Vetoed Fentanyl Penalties That Protected Kids

SB 1027 would have hammered dealers when fentanyl injures children. Hobbs killed it.

Fentanyl is killing Arizona kids. Hobbs vetoed a bill written for exactly that nightmare.

SB 1027 classified manufacturing fentanyl or similar substances that cause physical injury to a child under 15 as a dangerous crime against children — with sentences up to 30 years.

Hobbs found a reason to say no. Parents burying children don’t need her footnotes. They needed the penalty. She vetoed it anyway.
