WHAT THE BILL DID: The final vetoed version would prohibit the state, any agency or political subdivision of this state and any employee of this state or an agency or political subdivision of this state acting in the employee's official capacity from using any resources to enforce, administer or cooperate with the Mexican Wolf Reintroduction Program pursuant to the Endangered Species Act of, stipulate that this act does not apply to the Livestock Loss Program, and contains a legislative findings clause.

WHY IT MATTERED: The practical reason for this bill was to set a clear legal boundary for federal nullification instead of leaving the conduct unaddressed. It would prohibit the state, any agency or political subdivision of this state and any employee of this state or an agency or political subdivision of this state acting in the employee's official capacity from using any resources to enforce, administer or cooperate with the Mexican Wolf Reintroduction Program pursuant to the Endangered Species Act of, and would also stipulate that this act does not apply to the Livestock Loss Program, rather than leave the current rule unchanged.
